About Us

There are many programs that aim to help the babies of disadvantaged young mothers, but few that focus on supporting a mother directly, so that she can take care of herself and her baby better. That's what we do.

We build relationships with young mothers and we stay connected to them. Research shows that the most important factor in preventing subsequent pregnancies is the strength of the relationship between a teen mother and the individual working with her.

We start early and we stick around. We begin to work with teenagers who are pregnant or parenting their first child and continue until the child is at least 2 years old.

We support moms, not just their babies. We help each young mother develop leadership skills and encourage her to develop and implement a plan to finish her education and obtain self-sufficiency.

We invest in the community. We train young mothers to reach out and support other young mothers and to be their own best advocates to improve government systems for themselves and their children.

We strengthen the maternal-infant bond. We help young mothers develop close relationships with their babies, so they can understand and meet their babies' needs and experience the joy of living with a happy, healthy baby.
